Deep Ray

Deep is a lawyer with a specialization in international sports law and has been actively involved in the sports industry for over a decade. Apart from working on cross-border and domestic transactions, he frequently represents clients before various sports dispute resolution bodies including the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, the FIFA Tribunal, tribunals and disciplinary bodies of national and international sports governing bodies.

Deep has a global client base and regularly advises clients (athletes, coaches, clubs, agents, governing bodies, sports management firms, other industry stakeholders) based out of various countries in Europe, South America, Africa and Asia on matters pertaining to inter alia employment, commercial transactions, intellectual property, player transfers, regulatory and disciplinary issues, match fixing, anti-doping. 

Deep also has a keen interest in academics and is the co-founder of a sports education initiative named “Doctrina Ludus” which was launched in 2022 with the mission to empower individuals with knowledge and expertise in the realm of sports law. He has delivered lectures at reputed universities and is frequently invited as a speaker at sports law conferences.

Deep holds a Master’s degree in Sports Law and Management, from the prestigious Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (ISDE), Barcelona. He has also completed a certificate course in Alternative Dispute Resolution from Columbia University, New York. Deep obtained his Bachelor’s in law from NALSAR University of law, Hyderabad.
